Staff Monaco & Alpes-Maritimes

Staff know-how, between tradition and modernity

Staff is a decorative art that combines the elegance of plaster with the flexibility of fiber, to create light, refined and durable architectural elements.

At GP Construction, we master the manufacture, installation and restoration of custom-made staffwork in Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes, respecting both classic styles and contemporary architectural projects.

A noble and versatile material, staff can be used to create highly refined decorative elements: cornices, moldings, columns, curved ceilings, invisible trapdoors or luminous grooves.

Our staff expertise for all your projects

Our plasterers work to a high level of precision, either to plans or to existing models, in both new-build and renovation projects.

We can also reproduce antique elements or create original pieces while respecting the overall aesthetic.

Our staff services

Our staff work ranges from false ceilings to sculpted cornices, overmantel cladding and ornamental elements. Each piece is designed to blend harmoniously into the space, according to technical constraints, expected lighting effects and the decorative identity of the location.

Cornices and mouldings

  • Straight or curved profiles, classic mouldings, friezes, modenatures.

  • Integration into Haussmann or modern ceilings.

  • Possibility of integrated indirect lighting (luminous grooves, LED strips).

Ceilings and suspended elements

  • Stucco ceilings with recesses for light fittings, spotlights, hatches or service ducts.

  • Relief ceilings, central rosettes, arched or coffered ceilings.

  • Incorporation of ducts, air-conditioning diffusers or invisible technical networks.

Vertical decorative trim

  • Wall trusses, pilasters, fluted or smooth columns.
  • Wall/ceiling transition tools (quarter round, chair rail, corner moulding).
  • Molded ornamental panels, floral, geometric or custom-themed motifs.

Technical elements in staff

  • Formwork for recessed lighting fixtures, rail-mounted housings or structural cladding.

  • Invisible access hatches in ceilings or wall linings.

  • Concealed cladding of beams, pipes or ducts.

Materials and components used

Staff consists mainly of plaster and plant or synthetic fibers. Our materials are selected for their finesse, durability and compatibility with the expected decorative treatments.

Moulded staff

Extra-fine, fast-setting plaster, fiber-reinforced or not depending on shape requirements.
Integration of textile weft or jute to reinforce resistance.
Plasticizing or retarding admixtures, depending on the rate of installation.

Brackets and fixings

Metal or wood framework for complex ceilings.
Suspension rails, adjustable hangers or invisible brackets.
Special staff adhesives and mineral-based fixatives for crack-free installation.

Decorative accessories

Moulds for custom cornices, reusable templates for rosettes.
Integrated components (LED spotlights, strip lights) installed in coordination with the electrical system.
Compatible finishing products: undercoats, matt or satin paints, whitewashes.

Phases in the execution of a tiling project

  • Dimensioning, volume analysis, determination of profiles and layout zones.

  • Creation of templates or validation of models according to decorative style.

  • Silicone or polyester molds for repetitive elements.
  • Cast by hand or by mechanical spraying, depending on the part.
  • Incorporation of fibers for reinforcement, and holding weft if necessary.
  • Mechanical fastening (screws, dowels, hangers) or specific gluing depending on surface.
  • Perfect connections between elements, invisible joints, puttying with a spatula.
  • Integration of electrical components, hatches or ducts if required.
  • Fine sanding, localized touch-ups, preparation for painting.

  • Site cleaning, aesthetic inspection under low-angled lighting.

Each phase is rigorously controlled, documented and validated by our in-house control office or in conjunction with partner design offices.
